And Then We Laughed

A blog about going places and doing things

Hi. I’m Karen. I love the outdoors, traveling, and eating delicious food. My mother convinced my father to name their eldest child after her favorite childhood paper doll, so it’s been my lifelong goal to be more than one dimensional. It’s about 50/50 on any given day. I’m pretty much in my mid-30s and still trying to hammer out exactly who I am as a person.

I’ve been married for over 13 years to my college sweetheart, who happens to serve in the Army. He’s the peanut butter to my jelly and the cheeseburger to my milkshake. There is no one else I’d rather travel the world with and consider him to be the cat’s pajamas. Our two children and chocolate lab have proved themselves to be excellent adventure-mates and we can’t wait to see where the road will lead our little family next.

I’ve been learning as new laugh lines appear in the face that stares back at me in the mirror each morning that I don’t know near as much about life as I thought I did as an invincible 20-year-old. I thought I’d have it all figured out by now. But in many ways I am glad that I don’t, because how boring would that be?
